The Hanford Sentinel reported, “Out of hundreds and thousands of videos from local, regional and national committees, 14 students, age 7 to 17, from Utah to Ohio, were chosen to showcase their talents as finalists for the National Youth Storytelling Olympics.”
“According to Kevin Cordi, executive director of this event and a Hanford High School teacher, the students were selected because of their excellent abilities in the complex art of telling a good story.”
“These students are exceptional,” Cordi said. “As a professional storyteller and teacher for more than 15 years, I have seen hundreds and thousands of students and adult tellers and these students’ talents and abilities belie their years.”
The students not only had two public concerts but also visited local schools in Hanford and Visalia, performed at the Clovis Library, and ventured out to Yosemite National Park.
